Tchaikovsy's 1812 Overture

Tchaikovsy (1840-1893)
was a Russian composer. He wrote some really great music (including the music for the ballets, Swan Lake, and The Nutcraker and the famous 1812 Overture, which he composed in 1880).

The 1812 Overture  commemorated Russia’s victory over Napoleon’s troops, when they failed to conquer Russian territory in 1812. The piece lasts about 15 minutes, and is best known for its grand finale with cannon fire, ringing chimes and brass fanfare. Have a listen
