Children of the World

Children of the World

Each new day, the sun arises,

Spreading warmth over all the earth.

Young and old share in this same light,

All are children/ of the world.

We are brothers, we are sisters,

We are children of the world,

Not by blood or name or nation, but the bonds of life we share,

When we celebrate our differences we find we’re much the same,

We’re a family together,

We’re children of the world.

Of the world.

Lightning sparks and heaven thunders,

Pouring rain over all the land,

All may drink this precious water,

Who are children/ of the world.

We are brothers, we are sisters,

We are children of the world,

Not by blood or name or nation, but the bonds of life we share,

When we celebrate our differences we find we’re much the same,

We’re a family together,

We’re children of the world.

Of the world.

We laugh, We love and live and breathe,

We cry, We help a friend in need.

We are brothers, we are sisters,

We are children of the world,

Not by blood or name or nation, but the bonds of life we share,

When we celebrate our differences we find we’re much the same,

We’re a family together,

We’re children of the world.

Of the world.

We’re children/ of the world.

The Little Fish who got Away

THE LITTLE FISH THAT GOT AWAY

I have met fish down inside the net fish.
Wet fish, pet fish,
Big as you can get fish.
Fat fish, flat fish
Parrot fish and cat fish
But I’m the little one that got away.

Ha, ha, ha, hee, hee, hee
Can’t catch me in the deep blue sea
Ha, ha, ha, hee, hee, hee
They’ve all had their chips but me.

Jaw fish, craw fish, salmon fish and saw fish,
I’ve seen more fish than you saw before fish.
Old fish, cold fish,
Slippery to hold fish,
But I’m the little one that got away.

Now they’re fried fish, barbequed and dried fish,
Baked and flaked fish,
Put into a pie dish,
Roasted, toasted,
Gobbled up inside fish,
But I’m the little one that got away.

Stand Up (year 4 only)

STAND UP!

Stand up, for yourself.
Stand up, for someone else.
Stand up, for you and me.
Stand up, so we’ll be free.

Children have the right to self expression.
To be the person they would like to be.
Children have the right to be accepted.
No one should be mean to you or me.

Stand up, for yourself.
Stand up, for someone else.
Stand up, for you and me.
Stand up, so we’ll be free.

Children have the right to be protected,
From guns and work and from neglect and war.
They have the right to have a decent shelter,
They have these rights, even if they’re poor.

Stand up, for yourself.
Stand up, for someone else.
Stand up, for you and me.
Stand up, so we’ll be free.

Stand up, for yourself.
Stand up, for someone else.
Stand up, for you and me.
Stand up, so we’ll be free.

We are the Children of Nations School

We are the Children of Nations School

Give it 1…, give it 2…, give it 1-2-3!  (X 4)

We are the children of Nations school
We take a pride in the things we do.
Learning together and having fun,
Who’s for a good day? EVERYONE!

Give it 1…, give it 2…, give it 1-2-3! (x2)

Give it all you’ve got,
‘Cause you’ve really got a lot!
Give it heart, Give it mind,
Give it soul, don’t stop!

Give it all you’ve got,
‘Cause you’ve really got a lot!
Give it heart, Give it mind,
Give it soul, don’t stop!

Everyone is special,
Everybody has gifts,
So we’re gonna work together,
And we’re gonna learn to give!

A horse and a flea and three blind mice

A horse and a flea and three blind mice
Sat on a kerb-stone playing dice.
The horse, he slipped and fell on the flea;
‘Whoops!’, said the flea, ‘there’s a horse on me!’

Boom, boom, ain’t it great to be crazy,
Boom, boom, ain’t it great to be crazy?
Giddy and foolish all day long,
Boom boom, ain’t it good to be –crazy?

Way down south where bananas grow,
A flea stepped on an elephant’s toe;
The elephant cried with tears in his eyes,
‘Why don’t you pick on someone your size?’
